I teach in the Computer Information Science program, with a focus on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, machine learning and intelligent computing systems.
Courses taught
CDS 3543 Data Visualization for Decision Making
CDS 4003 Data Science for Business Applications
Free online courses I have written, open to anyone at no cost
Machine Learning for Cybersecurity. Twelve units on applying machine learning to intrusion, malware, phishing and fraud detection, and on attacking and defending machine learning systems, with nineteen labs that run in Google Colab or on a laptop.
Working Notes on Large Language Models. Eight chapters that build language models from attention to agents, each ending in a project that runs on a laptop without a GPU.
Hands-On AI for High School. Browser-based labs for students in grades 9 to 12 on object recognition, sensor anomaly detection and reinforcement learning, with an opening demo on how AI can go wrong.
Pandas, Clearly. A hands-on course in Python data analysis with pandas, with 30 modules and 120 guided lessons that run in the browser or in Jupyter notebooks, from first Python steps to cleaning, grouping, joining and visualizing data.
