APTO SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

Celebrating Community, Volunteerism, and Leadership!

The Algonquin Regional High School APTO Scholarship recognizes graduating seniors who have demonstrated meaningful involvement in their community, leadership in and out of school, and a strong sense of responsibility to both their family and others.

We encourage all eligible students to apply. These scholarships are intended to recognize not only achievements, but also character, commitment, and impact. Scholarship amounts and the number of awards given may vary each year. Applications are evaluated anonymously by the scholarship committee based on the quality of the essay and the criteria outlined.

Eligibility & Submission

Applicants must be graduating seniors. To be eligible, a family donation totaling $100 or more must be made to the APTO over the course of the student’s four years at ARHS. Donations may be made incrementally over that time. The full donation amount of $100 must be received by December 30th of the year prior to applying. For example, students applying for Fall 2027 must have the full donation received by December 30th, 2026. All application materials must be submitted by the posted deadline. Please refer to school communications for submission details and deadlines.

APTO SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Essay (300 words max)

Describe one meaningful experience related to leadership, volunteerism, work, or family responsibilities. Explain how it strengthened your connection to your community or your family, and what you learned from it.

Community Involvement

List your involvement in community and volunteer activities, including school supported events, religious groups, clubs, and service organizations. This can include school based service such as NHS service hours. Please include organization names, dates, your role, and how you contributed.

Leadership Experience

List leadership roles you have held during high school, both in school and outside of school. Include the organization, your position, years served, and how you made an impact.

Family Donation
