Read around the upcoming BoE rate decision via Bloomberg and they have added a brief paragraph explaining the last few months quite well. There is anticipated reporting that argues that the MPC is poised for a reduction in the Bank rate by 25 basis points on 07 November 2024 (a decision that accompanies the Fed's interest rate decision). The Bloomberg report states: "For the Bank of England, things are a little more complicated. Inflation has been decelerating, and the economy still remains relatively intact. With that, the path should be easier for the BoE to cut. However, last week’s budget decisions could see further fiscal spending, which makes the BoE’s job harder." Just after what is turning out to be a frothy U.S. Presidential election period for markets.
