What Group Counseling Looks Like
Group counseling with me is intentional, structured, and designed to create a supportive space where individuals can grow not only through personal insight, but also through shared experience. I take an integrative approach, meaning I incorporate multiple evidence-based strategies and tailor each group to the unique needs of its members and the focus of the group.
While each group has a central theme — such as anxiety, postpartum support, healthy relationships, sobriety, or life transitions — the experience is never one-size-fits-all. I adapt content, pacing, and interventions based on the group’s dynamic, goals, and developmental stage. Some sessions may include psychoeducation and skill-building, while others emphasize reflection, processing, and connection among members.
Group sessions often incorporate structured discussions, interactive activities, practical coping tools, and guided exercises that encourage insight and growth. Participants are invited (never pressured) to share their experiences in a safe, respectful environment. The group setting allows members to normalize challenges, gain perspective, and practice new relational skills in real time.
I intentionally balance structure and flexibility — providing clear direction and therapeutic guidance while remaining responsive to what the group needs in the moment. My goal is to foster an atmosphere of safety, accountability, and empowerment where members feel supported and encouraged in their growth.
Group counseling offers a powerful reminder: you are not alone, and healing often happens in connection with others.
