This map shows the relative loss or gain of tree canopy on a regional basis using the same 25-acre hexagons as the previous two maps. This gain or loss is due to the corresponding amount of urban development that might require the destruction of local tree canopies. 2018 Surface Temperature vs Tree Canopy Density Map
These two maps show the comparison of land surface temperature in Alexandria in the year 2018 and the tree canopy density through out the city. In general the regions with greater tree canopy density correspond to regions with lower surface temperatures.
