Race and Ethnicity in Alexandria
This is an interactive map that shows the race and ethnicity of regions in Alexandria as a percentage of the total population there. It includes White, Hispanic, Black, Asian, Mixed, and Others. There are several different levels of the map each of which gets progressively more specific to smaller regions, so the choice of an interactive map depends on the size of the study region. This site also includes a number of bar charts that might be useful to statistically compare the percentages of races and ethnicities in communities.

Equity Emphasis Areas, or EEAs, are areas with high concentrations of low-income individuals and/or groups that have been traditionally disadvantaged due to race or ethnicity. This map shows the location of these groups within the City of Alexandria. When looking at the map, you can click on each census region within Alexandria and see the census data for that region, and, for the EEAs shaded in orange, you can see the equity score as well as the distribution of marginalized groups.
