For the past two years, I have done a variety of ceramic works with these pieces I believe are my strongest. My major theme surrounding my work is that I take inspiration from nature, where I bring my sketches to life with clay. This piece in particular is of a tile embellished with flowers that represent my own characteristics, as well as the addition of a luna moth resting on top of one of the stems. I chose to include flowers like lily of the valleys and irises, since I believe it reflects me the most according to the meanings I tie them with. I see purple irises representing flexibility and strength, which are things I try to maintain in my life. Lily of the valleys can be symbols of happiness or warmth, but I also chose them in my piece because it is part of my French culture in a festival during the spring where they are given to those you love.
