I am a Prime Minister’s Research Fellow and PhD scholar in the Department of Biotechnology at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, working under the supervision of Professor Mohammad Mahfuzul Haque.
My research brings together biotechnology, molecular enzymology and stroke biology. I am interested in how the regulation of neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS), including its post-translational modification, contributes to the molecular mechanisms of ischemic stroke. My aim is to deepen our understanding of these mechanisms and explore their relevance to potential therapeutic targets.
I completed my MSc in Biotechnology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, in 2019–2021. This training strengthened my foundation in biomedical science, experimental research and critical thinking.
I previously completed my BSc in Biotechnology at Jamia Millia Islamia in 2016–2019, graduating as a Gold Medallist. My academic journey connects a broad grounding in biotechnology with a focused interest in enzyme function and disease biology.

Jamia Millia Islamia
My doctoral research is supervised by Professor Mohammad Mahfuzul Haque, Professor and former Head of the Department of Biotechnology at Jamia Millia Islamia.
His work in biophysics, biotechnology and molecular enzymology focuses on enzyme structure, function and mechanisms. His academic contributions include more than 100 research papers in journals and conference proceedings.
He earned his doctorate in the Department of Biosciences at Jamia Millia Islamia. His research experience includes a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in the Department of Immunology, Lerner Research Institute, Cleveland Clinic, USA, and a Staff Project Scientist appointment in the Department of Pathobiology at Cleveland Clinic.
This research environment provides the molecular enzymology foundation for my work on the regulation of enzymes relevant to stroke biology.
