My name is Makenna Eisenzimmer, and I am from Big Springs, Nebraska. I graduated from Ogallala High School in 2021, where I was actively involved in FFA, 4-H, and various other organizations. Following high school, I attended Northeast Community College (NECC) in Norfolk, Nebraska, majoring in Agricultural Applied Science while also competing as a member of the livestock judging team. After my time at NECC, I transferred to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where I am currently a senior majoring in Agricultural Education with a minor in Agribusiness.
Growing up on my family’s farm in Big Springs, I gained hands-on experience in row crop farming, John Deere equipment operation, center pivot irrigation systems, and various other aspects of agriculture operations. My involvement in 4-H provided opportunities to exhibit multiple species, including pigs, sheep, goats, and horses, as well as participate in static projects, leadership camps, and workshop events. My engagement with FFA was extensive—I served as an officer for three years, earned all available degrees, including the American FFA Degree, competed in numerous Leadership Development Events (LDEs) and Career Development Events (CDEs), qualified for nationals in Veterinary Science, and was also involved in several other local chapter projects.
These experiences have fueled my passion for agriculture and education, shaping my career aspirations within the industry!
