Artifact 1: The artifact I will use is my unit plan. In this unit plan I aligned a curriculum that follows a code of standards from the AFNR for 10 lessons with formative assessments at the end of them. This unit plan is based on curriculum that follows industry- validated technical standards, and they help incorporate employment skills depending on the lesson. These lessons will allow students to apply integrated knowledge and skills in authentic scenarios that can be applied to life outside of the class room. As an educator I will review my unit plan and curriculum every 3-5 years to help ensure that my content is staying up-to-date, and current with industry standards.

Artifact 2: The artifact I will use is my code of conduct. In this code of conduct I will outline expectations for my classroom and laboratory that will be followed by everyone in the learning space to ensure that all students and staff have a safe and positive experience. Part of this code of conduct is based off of the guiding principals from the U.S. Dept. of Ed., and the rest is based off of how I believe we as students and educators should treat our peers and colleagues. This code of conduct will ensure that I am holding all of my students to the same standards. I will also have clearly stated disciplinary actions that will be implemented when the code of conduct has been broken. There will be 1st- 5th offense actions that will be punishable, depending if the issues of the code being broken keep happening by the same student. This code is wrote down, and clearly states so that all will be treated fairly, and will respect in my classroom.

Artifact 1: The artifact I chose demonstrates my understanding of sequencing by displaying my Agriculture Education Program Planning Map. You will see that I have my courses broken down between fall and spring semester. I would like to offer any dual-credit courses possible in the upper level courses if the school I'm at allows. I carefully selected the courses I offered based on the AFNR program of study standards, and then some from courses offered at NECC and UNL. I hope by offering courses that are similarly being taught at community colleges and a couple at the university level I will help prepare my students for college and career readiness. You will also see that spring of senior year I left that open to capstone and paid placement/internship type courses. I think offering courses like these allow students to apply what they have learned over the course of their high school careers into something that can benefit them in their future endeavors.

Artifact 2: The second artifact I will use is my classroom handbook. This handbook will serve as a comprehensive guide for teachers and students, that outlines policies, procedures, expectations, and important information about the curriculum, classroom expectations, grading systems, and school rules. The handbook will allow for all policies to be readily referenced to in detail and will help ensure that there are consistent practices and rules abided by within the classroom. This will help ensure that all students and staff have a safe and positive experience.

Artifact 2: During my internship with American Implement last summer, I played a key role in facilitating an interactive customer clinic for the launch of the John Deere S7 800 combine. This event, held in Goodland, KS, brought together farmers from Kansas, Colorado, and Nebraska for an in-depth presentation, including a Q&A session, a slideshow, and a hands-on walk around of the new machine. John Deere corporate product experts, alongside American Implement's team, led discussions on the latest features, technological advancements, and performance improvements of the S7 800 combine. My involvement in this event allowed me to showcase my product knowledge by assisting with the presentation, addressing customer inquiries, and engaging with industry experts. Additionally, I gained deeper insights into the machine’s electrical and technological innovations from factory specialists, further enhancing my understanding of the advancements in the latest generation of John Deere equipment.

Artifact 2: The article I am selecting to demonstrate my understanding of work-based learning (WBL) in CTE programs is my legal and safety plan. Ensuring student safety is a top priority in any WBL experience. This plan will help ensure that students can fully benefit from WBL experiences while maintaining a safe and legally sound environment. Work-Based Learning is an invaluable component of Career and Technical Education, offering students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while developing essential career skills. Ensuring student safety and addressing legal concerns are essential in providing effective and responsible WBL opportunities. By implementing proactive safety measures, establishing clear liability protocols, and maintaining ongoing supervision, we can create an environment where students thrive in real-world learning experiences. Through careful planning and collaboration with schools, parents, and employers, WBL can be both a safe and legally compliant educational tool that prepares students for future career success.
