These practical courses are designed specifically for Spanish-speaking teachers of English - but are also useful for anyone who uses English in their working life. The aim is to give you a) the tools for immediate improvement and b) the means to continue improving on your own. They will also give you a better understanding of how to approach pronunciation with your students, and material that you can use in class. The courses are conducted online through Google Classroom, and with live online sessions on Zoom to give you personalised attention.
Each year, when I analyse the results of my opositores, it is clear that those who pronounce and present well have a definite advantage, and that those who need to improve their pronunciation and presentation skills tend to get lower marks. This is just a fact. Of course, first you need to have excellent material and understanding of the concepts and methodology, but then you need to present it and sell it to the tribunal. You have to convince them that you deserve to be given a place because you are an excellent teacher and an excellent language model.
The approach used here is different from other pronunciation courses. We do not start out by tackling each individual problem separately – that is an impossible and highly frustrating way to approach pronunciation. Instead, a global approach is used, demonstrating that by prioritising a few selected things, many problems will automatically disappear.
You will learn to speak again, to use your mouth to make meaningful sounds – but this time in English.
You will learn to read again, but this time in English. Around 60% of the pronunciation mistakes Spanish learners make are because they are trying to say the wrong sound. You will learn to understand how different spellings represent all the sounds. Yes - there are plenty of sound-spelling rules in English!
PRICE for each level of the Pronunciation courses – 150 Euros. There is a discount for those who purchase the Transcription course at the same time.
