Alderney Gate Ideas Seminars

Join us each week in the Alderney Gate Library  to discuss a  fifteen to twenty-minute video talk from a sequence organized around a topic of intellectual interest.  Each of us will learn, not only from the video lecture, but also from the insights of other participants. We will watch talks by well-known investigators, and think critically about and then discuss what we have just heard. The lecture and discussion go from 1:30 to 2:30 PM. You can also join online through Zoom at 1:30. These seminars will meet on Tuesdays at 1:30 PM in the Tynes Room at the Alderney Gate Library and simultaneously online through Zoom.

Our 2023-2024 main topic will be  Ethical Reasoning. We will cover Michael Sandel's well known and extremely good lectures on Justice.  See  http://justiceharvard.org/justicecourse/

There will be 24 sessions. They  will begin, I hope, the week of 30 October 2023 and continue until May 2024.

To see the syllabus, go to the tab, Ethical Reasoning, above

Our first topic for 2023-2024 will be Food. The series will run from 11 September 2023 to 24 October 2023.
