We’re thrilled to share that Aldan Borough now has its very own Green Wagon, part of a growing regional movement to make our neighborhoods greener, healthier, and more connected to nature.
Inspired by the Little Free Library idea and supported by Transition Town Greater Media, the Green Wagon Project transforms second-hand wagons into pop-up nature stations. Each wagon shares free native plants and tree seedlings, fun activities for kids, inspiring information about pesticide-free gardening, and small wonders from the natural world – all meant to delight pedestrians and passers-by.
In Media, the wagons have become a beloved seasonal tradition. They’ve sparked conversations, planted hundreds of pollinator-friendly gardens, and even inspired towns like Springfield Township and West Chester to launch their own.
This is Aldan’s first year, and we’re excited to grow together!
🌱 The wagon will be on pause from July 1st to September 1st. We’ve learned from experience that keeping tiny plants healthy in the hot summer months is really tough – for us and for the plants. But don’t worry – we’ll be back in September with fresh plants, new resources, and even more nature magic to share.
Do you have native seedlings to share in the fall?
Would you enjoy decorating the wagon or making signs?
Want to help us stock fun nature items or kids’ activities?
Or maybe you’re just curious and want to learn more?
We’d love to connect with you! This project grows best when it’s rooted in community.
Let’s keep Aldan blooming!new resources, and even more nature magic to share.
