The Tree Tenders® Training program empowers residents to restore and care for the tree canopy in their communities. This training course was developed by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) in collaboration with Penn State Extension Urban Foresters in southeast Pennsylvania. During the training, you will learn everything you need to know regarding tree biology, identifying trees, pruning and root care, planting, how to organize a community tree planting & more!
Take the Tree Tenders on-demand classes from PHS!
If you are an Aldan resident and have a question about pruning, mulching, or caring for your tree, please reach out!
Enter your zipcode and find native plants in your area and their bird friends.
Search plants that are native to the State of Pennsylvania with the Advanced Search tool. You can narrow your search by site conditions, bloom time or bloom color.
Not all native plants are well-behaved in a garden setting. The Mt. Cuba Center in Hockessin, DE publishes their findings on native plants that exhibit garden-friendly traits such as compactness or resistance to powdery mildew, in addition to providing ecological value measured in number of pollinator visits.
