I started studying music with Luigi Sessa in Lauro di Sessa Aurunca (Caserta, Italy), where I took my first steps in the town band from an early age. I continued my studies with Luigi Lettiero, under whose guidance I earned my clarinet diploma at the “Licinio Refice” Conservatory of Music in Frosinone (Italy) in 1993, further enriching my education through various advanced courses and masterclasses.
I have performed with concert bands, orchestras, and chamber music ensembles—specifically in a wind quintet and a clarinet quartet—and also collaborated with the Italian Wind Octet, with which I took part in recording a CD of works by J. Triebensee at the Vatican Radio studios. With the Ebony Quartet clarinet quartet, I recorded a CD that includes original compositions by Luigi Oliviero.
I continued my studies with Vincenzo Mariozzi, who was then the principal clarinetist of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome. With him, I refined my solo and orchestral repertoire and, above all, my sound production technique.
In the mid-2000s, partly due to health issues, I abandoned the clarinet to focus on my academic career.
After almost twenty years, in April 2023 I resumed studying the clarinet. And now it will be hard to quit again...
You’ll find a few recent videos of my musical activities which I’ll gradually be adding to the following page (you can also find me on Facebook and Instagram): videos.
