Bruges, Belgium – on 23 April 2018 The Battle of the North Sea 1914-1918 exhibition opens its doors, marking 100 years since the U-boat peril of WWI and the British response to it – the raids on Zeebrugge and Ostend.
Housed in the Bruges Provinciaal Hof (Provincial Court) the exhibition used many unique items including some recovered from the wreck of the German submarine UB-29, to tell the story of the U-boat threat in the North Sea.
Also on display was a collection of Victoria Cross medals awarded following the Raids, brought together for the first time.
