The Alberta Marching Bands is an media page that posts or repost and promotes footage/pictures of all of Alberta, Canada's Marching Bands in order to hopefully grow a larger audience and community for our bands here in Alberta, Canada, similar to the Bands of America or Drum Corps International communities to demonstrate that Canada has some pretty cool and impressive Marching Bands as well.
Our Mission with our page is to promote/repost and post footage/pictures of all Marching Bands in Alberta, Canada, in the hopes of growing a larger audience and community for our bands here in Alberta, Canada. Like the Bands of America or DCI communities, we want to show that Canada has some pretty cool Marching Bands to show that these young performers are extremely underrated.
The Alberta's Marching Bands media page was created at 12 a.m. on December 12th, 2021, with its first post about the Stampede Drumline in Holland in 2017, which has since been deleted. The Alberta Marching Bands Instagram page was originally called "Bands of Calgary", and it was created to promote and post footage/pictures of the 3 feeder bands (Calgary Round-Up Band, Calgary Stetson Show Band, and the Calgary Stampede Showband). On December 23rd, 2021, the Instagram account "Bands of Calgary" was in fear of getting shut down by the Calgary Stampede Foundation, the admin team held a meeting to discuss rebranding the entire page. After much deliberation, the Admins all agreed to rebrand the page into "Alberta's Marching Bands." The affect of the change didn't happened until December 25th, 2021. On December 26th, 2021, the owner/founder, Josh, decided that AMB Calgary need a visually appealing logo, after many logo designs, Josh finally created the iconic AMB logo as we know it as today. As in, well, right now, we are still posting footage and pictures of our marching bands to this day. And we're planning to record our very own content very soon!
The AMB Media Team does record performances, but we mainly repost the footages from John Snyders Blok, Alexandr Yevlash and other peoplw who record for the band. We highly recommend everyone to check their YouTube channels. For photos that you mostly see on our page and this website, we mostly got them from Teddy Juliussen, Richard Dick Olver, Jacey Martens-Poole, Scott Richards and images on the internet.
