"Research Experience"
I have a total of 5 years+ of research experience, including 2.5 years as a Junior Research Fellow at my bachelor’s university and 2.5 years as a Graduate Research Assistant and Research Assistant at my master’s university in South Korea (Pusan National University) and Kyung Hee University. Alongside, I also worked on seberal survey-based studies as well as laboratory-based, project-oriented research. The key highlights of my research experience are summarized below:
2017
1. Diabetes: Prevalence, Management and Complications
Conducted a community-based assessment of diabetes incidence, treatment practices, patient lifestyle patterns, and disease complications. The study focused on medication adherence, dietary habits, access to healthcare, and progression into chronic complications such as neuropathy and retinopathy.
2. Health and Social Status of Elderly in the Northern Region of Bangladesh
Assessed the living conditions, socio-economic challenges, common diseases, psychological health, and caregiving support among elderly populations. The study highlighted gaps in geriatric healthcare and social support policies in rural and semi-urban areas of Bangladesh.
3. Occurrence, Cause and Management of Diarrheal Patients
Investigated the prevalence and etiological factors of diarrhea among different age groups, including hygiene practices, water quality, and nutritional status. Evaluated hospital treatment protocols and community-level management approaches.
2018
1. Rationale and Use of Gastroprotective Agents
Focused on the therapeutic justification of commonly prescribed gastroprotective medications (PPIs, H2 blockers, antacids) and their rational use in gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, and NSAID-associated gastric disorders. Emphasized appropriate dosing, drug interactions, and risk factors.
2. Prevalence and Management of Respiratory Complications
Analyzed patterns of respiratory diseases such as asthma, COPD, pneumonia, and seasonal respiratory infections. The project reviewed public health factors, environmental triggers (e.g., air pollution), and available treatment strategies in community and hospital settings.
2019
1. Prevalence of Iron Deficiency Anaemia (Rajshahi City, Bangladesh)
Led a nutritional and clinical survey identifying the prevalence of anemia among different demographic groups, particularly women and children. Explored dietary habits, socio-economic impact, micronutrient deficiency, and the effectiveness of supplementation programs.
2. Evaluation of Medicinal Values of Different Citrus Fruits
Investigated the antioxidant, antimicrobial, and nutritional properties of various citrus species. Work included phytochemical screening, determination of total phenolic and flavonoid content, and correlation with biological activities.
2020-2022
1. Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Evaluation of Different Varieties of Banana
Carried out extraction, phytochemical screening, and bioactivity analysis of multiple banana cultivars. Demonstrated potential pharmacological applications of peel, pulp, and flower extracts, showcasing promising antioxidant and antimicrobial profiles.
2. Phytochemical, Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Analysis of Medicinal Plants Native to Bangladesh
Focused on the therapeutic potential of indigenous plants through extraction, spectroscopic assays (DPPH, FRAP), and microbial inhibition tests. Aimed at discovering natural bioactive metabolites that could contribute to drug discovery.
2023-Now
1. Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Evaluation of Different Varieties of Banana
Studied bioactive compounds such as polyphenols and flavonoids. Assessed antimicrobial activity against pathogenic bacteria, reinforcing the nutraceutical potential of banana varieties.
2. Phytochemical, Antioxidant, Antimicrobial and Anti-Cancer Analysis of Native Medicinal Plants in Bangladesh
Conducted extraction, isolation, and identification of phytochemicals from selected medicinal plants. Performed in-vitro anti-cancer assays (e.g., MTT or cell viability tests) and antimicrobial profiling against drug-resistant microorganisms. Demonstrated therapeutic prospects for developing novel herbal medicines and cancer-preventive agents.
3. Synthesis and Characterization of New Novel Complex
Developed and characterized a novel metal-organic or coordination compound with potential pharmaceutical or catalytic applications. Investigated its structural, optical and electrochemical properties using advanced analytical techniques.
4. Application of Organic Solar Cells
Explored synthesis and photovoltaic performance of organic semiconducting materials. Focused on eco-friendly, low-cost energy solutions using organic polymers and novel materials.
