It is 24 pages, 10x10 and includes japanese style binding along the spine of the book.
in this book I share the story of my family's journey from Kashmir to Pakistan. Kashmir is a land within the mountains above Pakistan and India, and that is where my family is originally from. The Kashmiri liberation movement is one that is very close to my heart and the liberation of all occupied lands is a movement that I care about deeply.
Kashmir is often underrepresented in graphic design, and I believe that as graphic designers and artists, it is important for us to advocate for those in marginalized communities. Not many people have heard of Kashmir and through my book, I want to spread awareness on the topic while sharing my own family's story.
My Kashmir poster series is connected to my photo book, "Yahan Se Wahan".
This entire project is about exploring my cultural background and sharing the story of my family's journey from Kashmir to Pakistan. Throughout the book I share the story of my own family as well as a historical background on the occupation of Kashmir. Within the book I share more information on the poster designs and what is being represented within them.
