Mentoring undergraduate students for scientific publication
It is a fantastic opportunity to excite the young minds about science and recent advancements in science. I’m very interested to grow a scientific community in the research of atomically thin materials. Currently I am leading two groups of undergrad students in Bangladesh in writing review articles on the potential application of 2D materials in flexible electronics and energy storage. Stay tuned to read those papers once they are online!
Mentoring Undergraduate Researcher – University of Toledo Fall 2017-Fall 2018
I had an excellent opportunity to mentor Mr. Derek Messer, a then undergrad student, who was a member of the PICSSL lab. Mr. Derek is now a PhD student at the Purdue University. I had the opportunity to train him in electron microscopy for the purpose of characterizing graphene and other 2D materials. I also trained him in Raman Spectroscopy, Atomic Force Microscopy and advised him writing his own research paper.
