My research is focused on 2-dimensional materials. Two-dimensional (2D) materials, sometimes referred to as single-layer materials, are crystalline materials consisting of a single layer of atoms. I studied a novel exfoliation process for the layered materials. Exfoliation techniques often introduce significant molecular defects in the exfoliated nano sheets. Using the state of the art material characterization techniques like Raman spectroscopy, XPS and TEM, I've been quantifying the molecular defects in the compressible flow exfoliated graphene. Combining the knowledge of material science with the state-of-the-art material characterization technique, I study the physical and molecular properties of layered materials along with their application in real life.
