It is important to remember when looking on the internet for information to think about who is sharing this information, what makes them qualified to say what they are saying, why are they telling you this information (Are they trying to sell you something?) and is the information current.

The ACS website provides a variety of helpful information and resources including ways to stay healthy. Information is easy to search for and understand.

American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR)

Researches the role of physical activity, diet and nutrition in the prevention and treatment of cancer. AICR has a variety of research areas and information specific to teens and cancer.

Cancer Care Teens

CancerCare provides information, resources and support for teens affected by cancer. Provides free telephone education workshops.

A comprehensive resource for health information.

CHAP Cancer Education

This website houses a variety of cancer education materials including digital stories, video clips, and community activities developed with and for Alaska’s Community Health Aides and Community Health Practitioners.

National Cancer Institute (NCI) 

Provides accurate and up-to-date cancer information.

The Nutrition Source

This Harvard Public Health resource provides food and nutrition knowledge for healthy living.

Prevent Cancer Foundation

The Prevent Cancer Foundation advocates and supports the prevention and early detection of cancer through research, education, advocacy and community outreach.

An interactive online tool to help you to learn your risk of developing common diseases and get personalized tips for preventing them.
