The overall goal of the project was to give the student a better understanding of what aspects both technologically and organizationally, make up a specific group of careers. Furthermore, the goal was to allow the student the ability to take a deeper dive into why they have chosen a particular career. The project forces students to answer some questions about what exactly they want to do, how it is connected to technology and more complex questions like the ethics and diversity of a given field.
One lesson I learned was how much I have not deeply thought about why I am going to join the military after college for my career choice. The survey and project really showed me what I don't like about other careers which further confirmed to me why the Army is right for me. The project showed me how to think critically about how technology will be apart of labor now and in the future which is something I never really reflected on before. I learned that it is important to ask a lot of questions when considering and choosing a career because sometimes people just jump into things and I think before doing this presentation I was on such a path. I now feel much more confident in my career selection in partial thanks to what I have learned completing this project.
