Prototyping
Once the problem solution and a brief layout of the solution were laid out, it was time to prototype! The most interesting part of the prototype we were required to make, the one and only rule were to make do with what is around the house. The idea was to have a visual representation of what the solution could look like while saving on resources.
Understandably, everyone on the team had their own vision for how our end solution could like given that we only had a rough outline of what our solution could. With various ideas pouring in from everyone, it was now time to decide which one would be best suited. This is when we settled on a website. It was the most convenient and most accessible. Our Social Enterprise, Be My Buddy Initiative, was centered to be located in Chennai, India. Chennai is a metropolitan city and almost all its residents have a good internet connection. Directly working with Old Age Homes in Chennai would remove any problems with regards to the elderly accessing a "buddy". To my surprise, we came up with these corrections and solutions to any hiccups we had in our solution almost instantly. Having a visual prototype went a long way in achieving that.
Mentor Sessions
With a good idea on how our website would look like, we jumped straight into using our clarity in how our solution would like to create a prototype website which would help in assisting our pitch. We started of workshopping how our website wold look like. This is when our mentor joined us. He helped us navigate through the necessities that the website should containand how we could make it easy to use and user-friendly. With those inputs, we were finally able to come up with an incredible website that was easy to navigate and informed potential users about the vision, mission and ultimate goal of the Be My Buddy Initiative.
Week two was kickstarted with a mentor session. This was an extremely important session, especially with the Team Pitch comping up. It helped us refine our final problem solution and enhance our solution. It helped us structure our pitch, the flow, and how to convey the emotional and technical aspects of our proposed solution.
