A full 20 in the Air Force guarantees a pension! Get a second job or a full-time hobby. You are SET!

Even if your are NOT interested in serving a full 20, the Air Force's Blended Retirement system allows you to set up a 401K equivalent while on active duty and will MATCH up to 5% of your base pay in contributions! I.E. if 5% of your base pay is $200, the Air Force will put an additional $200 into a retirement plan that you can take with you to the civilian side!
