The magnetic nonlinear Schrödinger equation (mNLS) is a variant of the well studied nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) which has attracted increased attention in recent years. The inclusion of a magnetic potential in mNLS interferes with tools which have been used to obtain solutions for NLS which blow up in finite time. Blow-up results have been obtained for mNLS with constant magnetic field. These results relied on the specific structure and symmetry of the magnetic potentials. In this talk we establish the existence of blow-up solutions for mNLS with a class of potentials having no prescribed symmetry.
