Penny is a geeky fanfic writer who loves pirates, which probably explains her Sansa Stark/Euron Greyjoy fanfiction. Other subjects for her writing have been Elena Gilbert/Elijah, Henry Foss/Nikola Tesla, Mark Antony/Vorenus, and Sauron/Celebrimbor.
Her best friends are Maggie, and Nina. Penny and Maggie met their current boyfriends, Alan and Mike respectively, at Comic Con. Together, they cosplay, watch horror and fantasy, and discuss comic books. Penny's favourite opening scene from a movie is the one from X2, where Nightcrawler bamfs around kicking people on the face, her favourite TV episode ever is the Highlander Season 5 Methos-centric two parter Comes a Horseman and Revelation 6:8 (yes, it's two, but who cares, they're great), and her favourite X-Men villain is Mister Sinister. Penny can be a little obsessive about stuff she's into, especially if it starts going off the rails when there were way better plot/character development options. This is why she made a diagram explaining how The Vampire Diaries would've been a lot better if Damon had died a painful death in Season 2 (Lesson One: Vampires).
Penny is nice and always tries to be polite, even in the strangest situations, which makes it difficult for her to end conversations and turn down invitations. However, she's not a doormat and is perfectly capable of sploshing some monster heads if necessary (Lesson One: Vampires). She's also open-minded and happy to help, even if it means sticking a pin in the voodoo doll of a too busy roommate (Geek Addiction). Ever since she found out about the existence of dinosaur erotica, she's been dying to read some, and thanks to the untimely death of one of Nina's aunt's colleagues (Mummy Issues), she finally got her wish.
She made her debut in Lesson One: Vampires, where she was filmed killing a vampire. After this video went viral, it was misunderstood for a threat against fans of HBO's Game of Thrones, and Penny was forced to make a public apology and go to Dr Lem's geek rehab clinic (Geek Addiction). There, she narrowly escaped having her brain fried by a mad scientist. More recently, she made the mistake of accepting Bob's offer and used the Silver Key, which sent her into a dystopian future where the King in Yellow took over the world with an army of baby-eating lizard people (Penny and the Silver Key #1 & #2).
FUN FACT: Penny is named 'Penny' because of Inspector Gadget's niece (the cartoon, not the horrible movies)
