Tests

These are optional additions to a portfolio. We encourage these only if you feel your current portfolio doesn’t have examples similar to our art style & show concept. Rough work and sketches are encouraged, please do not feel you need to spend an exorbitant amount of time on these.

To submit your test materials, please upload your test materials into a viewable Google Drive Folder and submit the link with your application. 

Storyboarding & Directing

Please thumb/rough board a short sequence based on this scene and ref. You don’t have to do all sections of the script, just whatever you feel would help round out your portfolio best.

Please submit a page of Visual Development exploration for an Asian influenced world centered around Tea. You may be interested in referring to the Chinoiserie, Orientalism, and Rococo movements, as this is a world that has taken artistic influence from Europe due to colonialization. Some ideas and inspiration here.

1. An Asian fantasy inspired piece - think old world/Genshin like. See this playlist for examples (first half).

2. An upbeat Asian fusion piece like artists like VaVa. See this playlist for examples (second half). It would eventually have lyrics, but doesn’t have to for this test.

• Bonus points for use or knowledge  of traditional Asian instruments
