The dark side of artificial intelligence: The curse of convenience?
The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) is impressive, but do we notice the dangers? The video highlights that AI tools, which are increasingly present in everyday life, although convenient, raise serious concerns.
Laziness kills creativity
Instead of solving homework on their own, students use artificial intelligence, which hinders the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Similarly, music editing applications and graphic programs automate creative processes, which means that people do not learn the art of composing music or photography. Drawing cartoon characters is also becoming easier with the help of drawing programs, which reduces the need for years of practice and development.
The fear is justified: Will machines take our jobs?
In these cases, the end result is usually a simplified, mass-produced, easily reproducible product. This phenomenon makes people's fear of artificial intelligence understandable. Many fear that machines will take their jobs and livelihoods, as artificial intelligence is increasingly able to take over human tasks.
But there is a solution! The effective use of AI
But don't panic! The continuation of the video shows that there are indeed ways in which we can effectively use AI without losing our creativity and critical thinking. Stay tuned for the next part, where we explore the positive side of artificial intelligence and learn how to take advantage of its potential!
Hello everyone! I'm Attila from Hungary, and this is the third part of my series.
In this video, I'm going to talk about the essence of consumer society, and how you can create real value with the help of artificial intelligence. I'll show you how you can advance in your career while others are struggling to make a living.
If you haven't seen the previous parts where we talked about the basics of artificial intelligence, please check them out as well.
If you're interested in the topic, then stick with me! Don't forget to subscribe to my channel and like the video so you don't miss out on more content.
Today I'm going to talk about a very important topic that affects all of us. This is the relationship between consumer society and artificial intelligence.
We all know that it is human's natural ability to create value. Our ancestors created their homes, their clothes, produced food, and everything they needed to survive. This ability is in us too, but the consumer society pushes this ability into the background.
The essence of consumer society is that we don't create real value, but we buy cheap, low-quality mass products from others at a high price. Take clothes, for example. In the old days, people used to weave, spin and sew clothes themselves. Today, most of us buy cheap but poor-quality clothes in fast fashion stores that quickly fall apart.
Artificial intelligence was originally created to speed up and make work processes more efficient. However, practical use shows that it is mostly used by web stores, social media sites, and service providers to exploit us as much as possible.
Think about how many personalized ads we see on the internet. These ads appear based on data collected with the help of artificial intelligence, and they encourage us to buy as many products as possible.
With the help of artificial intelligence, companies can easily find out what products we are interested in, what our habits are, and what prices we are willing to pay. This information is then used to tailor ads to us as much as possible and sell us as many products as possible.
This is a vicious cycle in which consumer society and artificial intelligence reinforce each other. Consumer society encourages us to buy as much as possible, and artificial intelligence helps companies sell us as many products as possible.
But there is a way out of this vicious cycle. We need to start consuming more consciously and try to create as much value as possible for ourselves. Let's learn to sew, knit, tinker, and make ourselves the things we need.
And if we use artificial intelligence, let's not just use it to buy as many products as possible, but also to develop our knowledge and learn new things.
I hope this lecture made you think about the relationship between consumer society and artificial intelligence.
"The practical applications of artificial intelligence often prioritize entertainment and simplicity. However, this raises serious concerns. Students, for example, use artificial intelligence to complete their homework instead of solving it themselves, which hinders the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Similarly, music editing applications and graphic programs automate creative processes, which means that people do not learn the art of composing or photographing. Drawing cartoon characters is also easier with the help of drawing programs, which reduces the need for years of practice and development.
In these cases, the end result is usually a simplified, mass-produced, easily reproducible product. This phenomenon makes it understandable why people are afraid of artificial intelligence. Many people fear that machines will take away their jobs and livelihoods, as artificial intelligence is increasingly able to take over human tasks."
How can we turn artificial intelligence from our enemy into our colleague?
Take graphic designers, for example. Many graphic designers are losing their jobs because the internet is full of websites where anyone can edit graphics or photos for free or for a few euros, just by entering text instructions. However, these generated images are often full of errors. For a talented graphic designer, artificial intelligence can be an inexhaustible source of ideas, searching for new styles, which they can then edit and modify later.
The same is true for journalists. Many journalists may be afraid that artificial intelligence will write articles for them. In fact, however, a talented journalist can multiply their performance with artificial intelligence. I will show you how later.
Those working in communication and media do not need to be afraid either. For example, I do not speak English well, and I would not be able to create a professional studio to shoot high-quality videos. However, artificial intelligence speaks English for me, and communicates for me with the help of a generated avatar, taking advantage of the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence.
But let's look at other areas as well! In language learning, artificial intelligence can help with practicing pronunciation, offer personalized lessons, and can even function as a conversation partner. In translation, artificial intelligence can be a fast and efficient solution, but a good translator always checks and refines the end result. In word processing, artificial intelligence can help with correcting spelling errors, make suggestions for the style and tone of the text, but creative writing remains a human task.
The point is that artificial intelligence does not replace humans, but complements and supports them in work and study. Instead of being afraid of it, it is worth getting to know its possibilities and learning to use it effectively."
At the beginning of the video, I talked about consumer society and how, although you are capable of creating real value, the system encourages you to buy cheaply produced goods and services from others at a high price. You can use artificial intelligence in two ways: you can use it to meet the needs of the consumer society, formulating cheap and thoughtless questions, while others make millions through you. But you can also use it wisely, creating real value, preserving and strengthening your job, or even creating a new job, new opportunities in your life. The possibilities are endless, but that is not the point. Artificial intelligence has all the information on the web - it's like a safe where all the treasures of the world can be found. It is not necessary to list the treasures, but to give you the key!
Here are some key rules for effective use:
The power of role-playing: Artificial intelligence loves role-playing. The quality of the answer depends on the quality of the question. If the question is bad or stupid, so will the answer. Therefore, always start the conversation by defining the "role". For example, tell it that it is now a marketing manager who helps to organize a program, or a university professor who evaluates the text of a lecture from the perspective of non-expert students.
Do not settle for the first answer: Artificial intelligence is best when you have the opportunity to refine the end result. For example, I use Gemini AI every day. When it solves a problem, it always makes suggestions for further improvement. Allow it to improve the end result at least two or three times.
Ask it questions: Describe the specific problem as precisely as possible, and feel free to say that you are not an expert and cannot solve the problem. Artificial intelligence is an expert in the given topic, but can only answer if you ask the right questions. Ask it to ask you the questions that will lead to the solution. It will then formulate the questions that will help you find the answer.
The point is to always formulate simply and clearly, let it be creative, let it make suggestions, or ask it to make suggestions. With these methods, you will always be the winner!
Get to know the different AI tools: There are many AI tools available to you, which are specialized for different tasks. Get to know these tools and choose the ones that best suit your needs.
Combine AI with other tools: AI can be effective on its own, but you can achieve even better results by combining it with other tools. For example, you can use AI for word processing and then edit the end result with a traditional word processor.
Learn from AI: AI is not just a tool, but also a learning opportunity. Observe how it works and learn how to use it best.
Be critical of AI results: AI is not infallible. Always be critical of its results and check that they meet your expectations.
Use AI for creative tasks: AI can help not only in routine tasks, but also in creative tasks. For example, you can use AI for brainstorming or exploring new styles.
Do not be afraid to experiment: AI is a new technology, so do not be afraid to experiment with it. Try new things and discover what it is capable of.
Share your experiences with others: If you have good experiences with AI, share them with others. Help them to use this technology more effectively as well.
Follow the development of AI: AI is a constantly evolving technology. Follow the new developments so that you can always use the latest tools and methods.
Use AI ethically: Always keep ethical considerations in mind when using AI. Do not use AI for purposes that may be harmful to others.
Do not forget about human relationships: AI can be a great tool, but do not forget about human relationships. AI cannot replace human interaction and personal relationships."
