As President of GISTeR, Dr. Lee is a leading advocate for inclusive R&D, championing the integration of sex, gender, and intersectional analysis. Her commitment to empowering women and girls in STEM is evident through her co-organization of both the Gender Summit Asia Pacific and the Gender Summit Global for SDGs in Seoul. 

A Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at Ewha Womans University, where she taught from 1980 to 2014, Dr. Lee also served as the founding president of the Center of WISET (2011-2016). In this pivotal role, she developed groundbreaking initiatives, including the Returnee Program for women re-entering STEM and a vital mentoring program for female STEM students—both now recognized as national human resource development programs. 

Her current research focuses on harnessing AI for inclusive growth and shaping policies for gendered innovations. Dr. Lee's extensive experience includes significant past roles on the Presidential Advisory Council on Science & Technology and as President of KOFWST, in addition to her service on the National Science & Technology Commission. 

이혜숙 박사는 GISTeR(젠더혁신연구센터) 대표로서 성별, 젠더, 교차성 분석을 연구개발(R&D)에 통합하는 포용적 혁신을 적극적으로 옹호하고 있다. STEM 분야에서 여성과 소녀의 역량 강화를 위한 그녀의 노력은 아시아태평양 젠더서밋과 서울에서 열린 SDGs 글로벌 젠더서밋의 공동 조직을 통해 잘 드러난다. 

이화여자대학교 수학과 명예교수인 이 박사는 1980년부터 2014년까지 이화여대에서 재직했으며, 2011년부터 2016년까지 WISET(이공계 여성 인재육성센터)의 초대 소장을 역임했다. 재직 당시 경력단절 여성의 STEM 복귀를 지원하는 리터니 프로그램과 여성 STEM 전공자를 위한 멘토링 프로그램을 개발했으며, 이 두 프로그램은 현재 국가 인재 양성사업으로 자리잡고 있다. 

현재 그녀의 연구는 포용적 성장을 위한 인공지능 활용과 젠더 혁신을 위한 정책 개발에 초점을 두고 있으며, 과거 대통령직속 국가과학기술자문회의 위원, 한국여성과학기술단체총연합회(KOFWST) 회장, 국가과학기술위원회 위원 등 다양한 고위 정책 자문 역할을 수행한 바 있다.
