Reimagining the Digital Future, Together.
Technology is not created in a vacuum. It carries the values, perspectives, and power structures of those who design it. As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to reshape how we live, work, and connect, it also risks deepening gender inequalities.
UN Women has been working to close this gap, but the numbers show we still have far to go. Out of 138 countries with national AI strategies, only 24 even mention gender.
At the same time, AI holds promise—especially when it comes to preventing and responding to gender-based violence. From real-time support tools to data-driven prevention, inclusive and ethical AI can be a force for good.
In this spirit, the UN Women Knowledge and Partnerships Centre in the Republic of Korea, in collaboration with Ewha Womans University Department of Artificial Intelligence, warmly invites you to join us for a landmark conference exploring the intersection of technology, gender, ethics, and AI governance. We welcome academics, practitioners, and thought leaders to come together in shaping inclusive, rights-based approaches to AI.
Held in the broader context of the Republic of Korea’s upcoming APEC 2025 hosting, this conference also highlights how addressing gender gaps in AI systems and tackling technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV) can pave the way for women’s economic empowerment across the region and beyond.
This conference marks the beginning of a future where technology works for equality, inclusion, and justice for everyone.
