The core question for this assignment was whether AI improved or replaced my thinking. Honestly, working on this assignment i had the idea to make more like talking about something i liked like where the AI acts as the game engine generating the environment but I am control the game. The machine didn't replace my design logic it just aggressively accelerated the rendering process at the start . My role shifted from manually drafting lines to commanding a system of tools and trying to remove the burden on my self.
The workflow efficiency only at the start was massive once I established the sequence. Using Perplexity to pull real-world data on Cyclopean masonry and Gothic proportions gave the project rules to follow. Triangulating the text models was a the good step. Claude did okay in the the spatial atmosphere but failed the cosmic horror vibe, while ChatGPT locked down the physical materials and tectonic weight. Feeding that combined data into Gemini is what finally made the massing look like a good , useable piece of architecture rather than a basic haunted house .
However, the risks of depending too much on AI became obvious fast. The system is completely blind to actual physics, is straight up frustrating to deal with once it starts hallucinating . Gemini did a good work for the , atmospheric lighting, but it generated severe architectural hallucinations. It spawned interior staircases that crashed directly into solid ceilings and platforms with zero load-bearing support , almost like im in dracula's castle or i have the ability to fly. This is where my interferance was mandatory. The AI creates a sort of "visual image "—it looks incredible at first glance, but then you focus and everything falls apart . I had to step in, fix the geometry, and reject the physically impossible structures.
Ultimately, the biggest danger in this workflow is trusting the machine's default outputs. AI doesn't understand circulation or human scale or originality it just synthesizes visual patterns. If I just accepted its first generation, i will generate images that might work on social meadia but not on architecture school . This assignment proved that while AI is an overpowering tool for concept visualization, it requires strict discipline and cannot be depended on for real ''work'' , once the conversation exceeds a certain length it is better to turn it off or go to another chat so i don't lose my sanity.
