Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy centers on helping students build strong conceptual understanding through problem-solving and active engagement. I aim to connect mathematical theory with real-world applications so students appreciate its relevance and depth. I encourage collaborative learning and use technology such as graphing tools, programming, and visual demonstrations to make abstract concepts accessible.

Teaching Assistant

Department of Mathematics, University of Houston (Fall 2023 – Present)

MATH 2413 — Calculus I (Spring 25, Fall 25)
Facilitate labs, conduct problem-solving sessions, and lead weekly discussions.
Assist students in mastering core calculus concepts through visualization and guided practice.
Responsible for grading, proctoring, tutoring, and holding office hours to support student progress.

MATH 1342 — Elementary Statistical Methods (Summer 25)
Designed parameterized MCQ assessments to strengthen conceptual understanding and standardize evaluation across course sections.
Support applied modeling coursework and promote consistency in student learning outcomes.

MATH 3339 — Statistics for the Sciences (Fall 23 - Spring 25)
Provide grading, tutoring, and one-on-one counseling support to help students interpret statistical results and improve quantitative reasoning.

Tutor

Center for Academic Support and Assessment (CASA), University of Houston (Fall 23 – Present)

Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring for all undergraduate MATH courses offered through CASA.
Assist students with conceptual understanding, homework, quizzes, and exam preparation using CASA Courseware (CCS) and Canvas.
Foster a collaborative environment that builds problem-solving ability and mathematical confidence.
