Video Games is something that I always enjoy since I was a young kid from the Nintendo 64 to PlayStation 4. I always enjoyed playing different type of games, but I always asked myself is there any benefit of videos games. After, all there is a lot of positive outcomes from Video Games that I didn't know about. Such as videos games can help with Dyslexia in many ways. Some research points to attention difficulties as being a key component of dyslexia. One study has shown dyslexics improved their reading comprehension following sessions of games heavy on action. The reason, researchers believe, is that the games have constantly changing environments that require intense focus. Another benefit that helps especially for me is that video games also reveal stress. It simply takes your mind of the main focus of you stress about and focus on the game instead.
Many people tell me such as my mom " What's so fun about you playing these games''. The real answer is that it keeps me entertained because it's something I enjoy doing on my free time. Also, I hang out with my friend in the game and we all have a good time. As time goes by the game gets old and we go to a different game we find ways to keep it interesting. But over the years of me playing games I learn an important lesson don't let video games effect your day to day life. Such as not going outside or spending family time or getting so angry over the games. How I see Video Games I see it in a positive way for me at least. I finish everything that I need to do and come home from a long day and couple hours for games. But its not good for playing 4 to 6 hours of video games a day. It can cause a lot of negative effects on your mental and physical health.
Many people may disagree with me saying " That I am wrong and video games is just for kids''. Yes and no video games are not just for kids and for teenagers. Famous people made a lot of money just playing video games. As well little kids they were just simply good at the game and showed of their skills to people. Their is so much benefit about Video Games. Mental floss says that " Video Games can make kids more active. While some games promote a whole-body level of interaction, even those requiring a simple handheld controller can lead to physical activity. Sports games that involve basketball, Football, or even skateboarding can lead to children practicing those same skills outdoors". I agree with this statement because, I play sports games such as basketball. When I play the game, it makes me want to go out and play. In a way that video games help you in many different types of ways such as eye coronation and quick thinking.
However, video games can help you with problem solving and even eye coordination. It can help with situational awareness an defense News reported that ''The Army include video games to train soldiers to improve their situational awareness in combat. Many strategy games also require the player to become mindful of sudden situational changes in the game and adapt accordingly''. Even the army uses videos to practice and not a lot of people knew. Another positive is that Action games, according to a study by the University of Rochester, train the player’s brain to make faster decisions without losing accuracy. In today’s world, it is important to move quickly without sacrificing accuracy.
Overall, video games is something that many people enjoy all over the world for many years and it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. A great amount of people hosts big events for different type of games such as tournaments and competitive gaming. In a way is competitive gaming a sport? Many articles such as Idtech says "Yes, video games should be considered a sport. Rooted in competition, involving athletic ability, requiring practice and physical activity, taking place in stadiums, and cheered on by diehard fanatics, video games and the playing of them checks all of the required boxes ". This mean that theirs professional gamer and they get paid for it. I hope you have a better understanding of gaming and the benefits from these video games.
