Ahirlog — the individual or company that owns the Play Console account.
ahirlog@gmail.coom — a monitored address. Use a role address, not a personal one.
You can read every lesson, take every quiz and keep your streak without ever creating an account.
Signing in with Google is optional. It exists so your progress survives a lost phone and follows you to a second device.
We show ads. Ads use your device's advertising ID. In the EEA and the UK we ask before personalising them.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not build advertising profiles ourselves.
You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app, at any time.
AhirLog ("the app") is a learning app published on Google Play by Ahirlog ("we", "us"). We are the data fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the data controller under the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation for users in those regions.
This policy explains what the app collects, why, who else sees it, and what you can do about it. It covers the Android and iOS apps and this website. It does not cover anything you reach by following a link out of the app.
The app works without an account. If you never sign in, we never learn your name or email address.
Signing in uses Google Sign-In. Google passes us:
Your email address
Your display name and profile picture URL, where your Google account has them
A user ID that identifies your account to us
We never receive your Google password.
The app records what you do so it can show your progress: lessons opened and completed, quiz answers and scores, bookmarks, streak history, milestones reached, and your app settings such as reminder times and theme.
While you are signed out this stays on your device. When you sign in, it is uploaded so a second device can pick up where you left off.
Ads and analytics collect:
Your device's advertising ID — a resettable identifier Google provides for advertising
IP address, and the approximate region derived from it
Device model, operating system version and language
App version and in-app events such as screens opened
If you buy a subscription, Google Play handles the payment. We never see your card number, bank details or billing address. We receive a purchase receipt and an anonymous customer ID from RevenueCat, our subscription provider, so the app knows your subscription is active.
Downloaded lessons, cached images, your recent searches and the counters that limit how often an ad appears are stored on your device and are not sent to us. Uninstalling the app deletes them.
Study reminders are scheduled on your device by the app itself. The reminder text never leaves your phone, and we do not send push messages from a server.
Under the GDPR we must name a lawful basis for each use. Under the DPDP Act, processing rests on the consent you give when you sign in or accept this notice, or on a legitimate use permitted by that Act.
We use your data for several purposes. To run the app and save your progress on your device, we use learning activity and settings under the lawful basis of contract. To sync progress across your devices, we use account information and learning activity, also under contract. To unlock and restore a subscription, we process your purchase receipt and user ID under contract. To show ads and fund the free version, we use your advertising ID and IP address, relying on consent for personalised advertising or legitimate interests for non-personalised advertising. To understand which lessons are used and where the app fails, we process app events and device information under legitimate interests. To keep accounts secure and prevent abuse, we use your user ID and IP address under legitimate interests. Finally, to answer your emails and rights requests, we process whatever information you send us under a legal obligation.
We do not use your learning activity to target ads, and we do not make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that make the app work, and only for the purposes below.
We share data with several service providers to operate and improve the app. Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) receives account information and learning activity, with its privacy policy available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy. Google Analytics for Firebase receives app events and device information, covered by Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. Google AdMob receives advertising ID, IP address, and ad interaction data, subject to Google’s partner policies at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. RevenueCat receives purchase receipts and an anonymous customer ID, with its privacy policy available at revenuecat.com/privacy. Google Play Billing handles your payment entirely through Google and is covered by Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public. If the app is ever sold or merged, your information may transfer with it — we will say so in the app before that happens.
The free version of the app shows banner and occasional full-screen ads served by Google AdMob. Ads pay for the lessons being free.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before showing personalised ads, using Google's consent form. Choosing "do not consent" does not remove ads — it makes them non-personalised, based only on rough location and the current screen.
Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID, or Opt out of Ads Personalisation.
iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and turn off Allow Apps to Request to Track.
Change your mind in the app: Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy choices reopens the consent form.
Buying a subscription removes ads from the app entirely.
We retain different types of data for different periods. Account information and synced progress are kept until you delete your account, after which they are removed within 30 days. Data stored on your device remains until you uninstall the app or clear its storage. Analytics events are retained for 14 months and then automatically deleted by Google. Advertising data is retained according to Google’s retention schedule, as described in Section 04. Purchase records are kept for as long as required by tax and accounting laws, typically 8 years. Emails you send us are retained for 2 years after the matter is closed.
Backups are overwritten on a rolling cycle, so a deleted account can persist in a backup for a short period before it is written over.
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may:
Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with;
Ask us to correct, complete, update or erase it;
Withdraw a consent you gave us, as easily as you gave it;
Nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated;
Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer, named in section 13, and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if we do not resolve it.
Under the GDPR you may ask for access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, or a portable copy of your data; object to processing based on legitimate interests; and withdraw consent at any time without affecting what we did before you withdrew it. You may also complain to your national supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Most requests are faster to do yourself: Settings → Account in the app lets you see your data and delete your account. For anything else, email ahirlog@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days. We may ask you to sign in to confirm the request is really yours — we will not ask for a copy of your ID.
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. It asks you to confirm, then permanently removes your account and every progress record we hold for you.
You can also email ahirlog@gmail.com from the address you signed in with, and we will do it for you.
Deleting your account removes your account details, synced progress, streaks, bookmarks and settings from our servers. It does not cancel a subscription — manage that in Google Play — and it does not erase anonymised analytics that can no longer be linked back to you. Data on your own device is removed when you uninstall the app.
All traffic between the app and our providers is encrypted with HTTPS. Your data on Google's servers is encrypted at rest. Access to production data is restricted to accounts that need it and protected by two-factor authentication. Sign-in is delegated to Google, so we never store a password.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant regulator as the DPDP Act and the GDPR require.
Our providers operate globally, so your data may be processed outside your own country, including in the United States. When data leaves the EEA or the UK, the transfer relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK Addendum, or an adequacy decision, whichever applies. Under the DPDP Act, we do not transfer personal data to any country the Government of India has restricted.
The app is rated for users aged 13 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13, or, in India, from anyone under 18 without verifiable parental consent as the DPDP Act requires.
If you believe a child has given us personal data, email ahirlog@gmail.com and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You will be notified of changes by:
Posting the updated Privacy Policy within the App
Updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document
We encourage users to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
