Raphael: Sublime Poetry

Raffaello di Giovanni Santi (1483–1520) - better known as Raphael - achieved such profound success as a painter, designer, and architect that he was regarded as the pinnacle of artistic perfection for centuries after his death.
The son of a painter and poet, Raphael engaged with the foremost writers and thinkers of his age, displaying a poetic sensibility that captivated his peers and generations that followed.
This series of lectures is organized to accompany the largest exhibition of his work ever brought to the United States, on view at the MET from March 29 to June 28, 2026.
Structure: Each lecture is a live event via zoom: a brief check and introduction, to ensure that participants have been able to connect, followed by a slide-presentation of about 50-60 minutes, and a Q&A discussion of about 20-30 minutes. Participants do not have to sign up for a zoom account. The link to the lecture is sent on the day of the event.
Fee: 20 USD per person/ per lecture 60 USD for the series
