The Journal of Agrometeorology is a open-access, peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to publishing high-quality original research in the field of agrometeorology and allied disciplines, including climate–crop interactions, weather-based agricultural advisories, climate change impacts on agriculture, sustainable farming systems, and agro-ecological studies. The journal aims to promote scientific research that supports climate-resilient, sustainable, and productive agricultural practices in India and similar agro-climatic regions.
All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Agrometeorology undergo an initial screening by the editorial team to evaluate scientific content, originality, relevance to the journal’s scope, and compliance with the prescribed author guidelines. Manuscripts that satisfy these criteria are then processed through a blinded peer-review system, ensuring that the identities of authors and reviewers remain confidential. Expert reviewers assess the manuscript for scientific rigor, methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, and contribution to the field of agrometeorology. The final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection is made by the Editor based on reviewers’ recommendations.
Strict confidentiality is maintained throughout the submission, review, and editorial decision-making process. All manuscripts, reviewer comments, and editorial communications are treated as confidential documents. Reviewers are expected to provide objective, unbiased, and constructive evaluations and must disclose any conflicts of interest that could influence their judgment.
Authors are required to disclose any conflicts of interest at both the initial submission and final acceptance stages. Any financial, professional, or personal relationships that may influence the research—such as consultancy roles, funding from commercial or governmental agencies, or affiliations with organizations related to the manuscript content—must be clearly declared. Such disclosures, when applicable, will be published along with the article to ensure transparency and maintain academic integrity.
For research involving human participants, farming communities, animals, or field-based agro-meteorological interventions, authors must comply with applicable ethical standards and regulations. Evidence of approval from an Institutional Ethics Committee or relevant authority must be provided upon request by the editorial office. Authors are responsible for ensuring ethical conduct, informed consent, and responsible data collection practices.
The Journal of Agrometeorology upholds strict publication ethics and does not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or duplicate submission. Submitted manuscripts must be original and should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Any violation of ethical standards may result in rejection, withdrawal, or retraction of the article, following established editorial and ethical guidelines.
Upon acceptance, authors are required to sign a copyright agreement granting the Journal of Agrometeorology the right of first publication and permission to disseminate the article through academic databases, indexing services, and libraries. While the journal retains these publication rights, the authors continue to hold the copyright of their work and will be appropriately acknowledged for any subsequent use of their published material.
The journal follows a continuous publication model, whereby articles are published online immediately after acceptance. Articles published during a calendar year are subsequently considered for indexing and archival purposes. All published articles are freely accessible to the scientific community, and authors do not require permission from the journal for academic sharing or off-prints.
Through adherence to these editorial and ethical policies, the Journal of Agrometeorology strives to maintain the highest standards of academic quality and integrity, while contributing to the advancement of agrometeorological research and climate-smart agricultural practices at the national level.
