Casey Day is a dedicated educator with a lifelong commitment to Frederick County. A product of our public schools, she raised her children here, ensuring they received the same excellent education she cherished. As a 29-year veteran teacher, Casey has served our students at every level, from elementary to high school, and even at the collegiate level. This unique perspective, combined with her diverse roles within FCPS – from classroom teacher to literacy specialist to computer science instructor – provides her with a deep understanding of the educational journey.
Casey's passion for education extends beyond the classroom. She is an active advocate for students, working tirelessly to address critical issues like funding, equity, and over-testing. Her experience working with state and local leaders, coupled with her involvement on numerous committees within FCPS, gives her a strong voice and the ability to drive meaningful change.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Casey is a dedicated community member. She actively volunteers her time to various organizations, including the Frederick County Social Services Advisory Board, and to various community events, including manning tables at Pride and In the Streets. This commitment to service demonstrates her deep-rooted belief in giving back to the community that has shaped her. Casey Day's experience, dedication, and commitment to our children make her the ideal candidate for the Board of Education.
