The mission of the ALSC is to strengthen the capacity of Aggies—and the broader community—for thoughtful civic learning, principled dialogue, and collaborative problem solving. By cultivating habits of critical inquiry, media literacy, and deliberative conversation, we practice citizenship in the spirit of civic friendship, advancing the Aggie Core Values and preparing students to lead and serve with integrity.

We envision Texas A&M as a national model for student-driven civic learning, where students lead meaningful conversations across differences, build trust through civic friendship, and leave prepared to shape a more thoughtful, engaged, and unified society.
