Sepsis: Easy Recognition and Early Prevention
Introduction
Introduction
This course comes about as a special request. Our partners identified a need of specialty training in recognizing and preventing sepsis for nurses taking care of post-operative patients. Our goal is to demystify sepsis, making it easier to identify early signs, and focus on preventing it - specifically as a post-operative complication. The content includes sepsis risk factors, pathophysiology by body system, and highlights nursing management with the "1 Hour Bundle". It can be taught to any level of nurse or student, but details of higher level of care management is tailored for a critical care nurse. The materials are easily available to use as a self-taught course or in a group discussing the case studies.
