Prehensile trunk, large ears
Elephant calves possess unique physical attributes and characteristics that enable them to adapt and survive in the wild. An elephant calf has a prehensile trunk, large ears, a thick layer of fat, soft hair, and long, thin legs to help it survive in the wild. Elephant babies/calves have sensitive skin and no special markings, so they stay close to their mothers to avoid sunburn. An elephant calf is usually quite hairy when born, they are one meter tall and weigh about 90-120 kg. They are also in a greyish, brownish color. Elephant calves are extremely delicate when born, as they need shade from the sun, have a thick layer of fat, and are large compared to humans, which are 50cm tall.
