Jim Kaitz, AFP National President & CEO. As President and CEO of AFP, Jim Kaitz is responsible for managing the operations of an association that represents 16,000 treasury and financial professionals located around the world and which owns gtnews.com, a London-based site that serves 60,000 readers worldwide. He was formerly Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Financial Executives Institute, a professional association of over 14,000 senior financial executives representing 8,000 companies in the United States.

Prior to joining FEI in 1988 as the Vice President of Government Relations, he was Manager, Trade and Business Affairs in Baxter Healthcare Corporation's Washington Office. He served as Director, Government Relations for the Scientific Apparatus makers Association and joined FEI's Washington Office in 1983 from Capitol Hill. From 1978 to 1982 he was legislative assistant to the Honorable James Shannon (D-MA), a member of the House Ways and Means Committee. He is a 1978 graduate of Georgetown University.

Introduction to Bank Regulation 101

The speaker is Paul Allred, Deputy Commissioner of the Utah Department of Financial Institutions. In his capacity as Deputy Commissioner he is responsible for assisting the Commissioner in the formulation of policy and regulation and acting as a liaison with other departments, the Utah Attorney General’s office, the state legislature, and the industries regulated by the department. Approved for 1 CTP/CCM recertification credit by the Association for Financial Professionals.

July 15, 2010 Luncheon 11:30 am to 1:00 pm

Presentation Title: NACHA Secure Vault Payments (SVP)

The speaker will be Ken Myles, Senior Vice President, eWise Systems (NACHA agent for SVP administration) SVP is an alternative payment method for ecommerce that allows payments to be made online through the NACHA ACH network without having to divulge any sensitive personally identifiable information, such as bank account number or credit card number. In the ecommerce world, this allows payments to be made in a secure way and at a lower cost than by credit card or other alternative payment methods. Approved for 1 CTP/CCM recertification credit by the Association for Financial Professionals.

September 23, 2010 Golf Tournament

Meadowbrook Golf Course

4197 S. 1300 W. West Valley/Salt Lake City

The golf outing and lunch is paid for by your AFP Utah dues. Activities include:

18 holes of golf with cart, first tee time begins 8:30am, shotgun start.

For the ‘non-golfers’, a Pitch ‘n Putt championship will be held on the putting practice green at Meadowbrook, in front of the clubhouse, beginning at 10:30am.

Lunch served in the Meadowbrook clubhouse restaurant at 1:00pm.
