Our speaker will be Professor Scott Shaefer. He is the Professor of Finance at the University of Utah and Investigator with the Institute for Public and International Affairs. Our Speaker is Larry Stay, CFA. Larry is the short-term cash portfolio manager for Ensign Peak Advisors. Ensign Peak Advisors performs investment management services for the LDS Church and affiliates. He has a vast background in cash investment management and will speak to us about challenges, risks, and changes in the short-term markets since the recession/credit crisis. Larry performed similar work while being previously employed by JP Morgan Chase. The meeting will be held at Zions Bank, One South Main Street, in the 18th Floor Founders Room. Speaker: Darrel G. Welling, Executive Vice President, ProPay, Inc.

Title: End to End Encryption

ProPay specializes in electronic payments and unique solutions for merchant credit card processing that meets or exceeds Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI). Mr. Welling will be sharing with us the latest concepts and applications in “end-to-end encryption” that can be used to satisfy PCI requirements, while at the same time reducing many of the costs and detail requirements of PCI.Approved for 1 CTP/CCM recertification credit by the Association for Financial Professionals.

Speaker: Victor Rivera, Kyriba Corporation

Title: Treasury Automation Solutions

Mr. Rivera will discuss the options of treasury automation solutions for companies with revenue between $70M and $80B in any sector. These solutions could eliminate the manual processes with disparate technology systems into one centralized solution to track all the financial and transactional data in their treasury and accounting departments.

November 19, 2009 Luncheon - Federal Reserve Bank

Our planned activity for November is a visit to the Salt Lake Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco! We are also planning to have lunch afterward. You may elect to attend the tour, the lunch afterward, or both. Here are the details:

Tour of Salt Lake Branch of Federal Reserve Bank, including overview of the Federal Reserve System, history of the branch, and the branch’s cash operation.

Branch location: 120 So. State St.

When: Friday, November 20, 2009; 10:00 – 11:30am

Lunch served afterward at 12:00 noon, Zions Bank , One South Main Street, 18th Floor, Founders Room,

Please note that group size for attendance at the Fed branch tour is limited. Please RSVP soon if you would like to attend. We are registering attendees on a first-come-first-served basis with the limited group size requirements of the branch. We are also required to provide the branch with a listing of names in advance of those who wish to attend the tour. If you do not wish to attend the tour, you may join us afterward for lunch at Zions Bank.
