2026 Conference Bucharest - 1-3 June
Submissions to the ESC are now open!
The Emerging Scholars Colloquium (ESC) aims to introduce emerging scholars, including PhD students and early career researchers, into the accounting research community and providing them an opportunity to present and discuss their research projects alongside a cohort of distinguished international academics. Scholars will present their work and receive feedback from senior scholars in the area.
Submissions
The format of the submission is a 500-word ‘pitch’ using the template available here. Pitches should be submitted by email to accforum@adelaide.edu.au by March 25, 2026.
Format and information
The ESC will start with a networking lunch (provided) on Monday, June 1, followed by a plenary session and presentations from each participant. Centering on the dialogue between participants and attendees, we invite a brief pitch, with 10–15-minute presentations of the main project ideas, focusing on the key challenges the presenter is facing and wishes to discuss. Each presentation will be followed by a 10-15-minute discussion facilitated by a leading academic. The focused exchange is intended to provide participants with insightful new perspectives on their research project.
Spaces are limited to 25 participants and delegates will have the ability to meet and network with the 4-5 leading scholars in various fields of accounting research.
Registration
Delegates may choose to register for only the ESC (which includes lunch and dinner), or for the ESC and main conference (which includes the SC and conference dinners, and lunch on all three days).
