One of the key responsibilities of the Electrical Systems subteam is to design and create the electronics bay that is placed inside the rocket. This component houses the altimeters, GPS trackers, and any other flight devices being used. The subteam is responsible for creating an integrated system between all electrical components that can easily and safely be operated to ensure the rocket has a successful flight.
The Electrical Systems subteam is also responsible for any and all payload experiments that are placed inside the vehicle. This will widely vary in topic as they are dependent on what the team is currently interested in researching as well as the competition requirements for said payload. This process involves an abundance of prototyping and fine tuning of the design before the finished product is eventually flown in the flight vehicle.
The current workday time for the Electrical Systems subteam is on Fridays in the Aero Mavericks lab from 1:00 pm to 3:30pm.
