(MECHANICAL ENGINEER, NATIONAL SPACE AGENCY)
Ms. Dana Bolles is a mechanical engineer at a national space agency. She works at their headquarters managing their science communications program. Ms. Bolles, a quadruple amputee herself, has faced inaccurate assumptions about her abilities throughout her life. She is an ambassador at American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)’s IF/THEN program, which brings together a variety of women in STEM careers to serve as mentors to middle school girls. Ms. Bolles has helped us understand the functionality of existing prosthetics and her own experience as an AstroAccess Ambassador on two zero-G test flights. Ms. Bolles’ advice has truly shaped our innovation and we are excited to continue collaborating with her!
