Electrocatalyst and Electrode Designs for PEMFC
Growing concerns about climate change are accelerating the shift toward an eco-friendly energy society.
Fuel cells are particularly advantageous, producing only water as a by-product, thus generating no pollution during energy production.
However, in proton-exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs), the commonly used Pt/C catalyst suffers from platinum loss due to the poor stability of the carbon support.
To address this, our lab is developing a high-performance, high-durability catalyst by designing a more stable inorganic support suited to fuel cell environments, aiming to replace traditional carbon supports.
