Green H2 Production by Water Electrolysis

  • Energy resources are being replaced due to the depletion of fossil fuels due to an increase in energy demand. Among alternative energy, hydrogen is easy to manufacture, store, and transport, and many studies are being conducted in an eco-friendly way.

  • Electrochemical water splitting regarded as a promising technique compensates these problems by electrolysis of water to Hydrogen(H2) and Oxygen(O2) by hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) and oxygen evolution reaction(OER).

  • OER is the more complicated process as it requires high overpotential, so the design of electrocatalyst is a vital factor. In our lab, we are working on a more efficient, way to generate large amounts of hydrogen.
