Educational Philosophy

As a School Counselor I believe that all students should have the opportunity to learn in safe, loving and nurturing environment.  I believe that all students should be treated with respect.  I believe that all students should have access to a comprehensive School Counseling program.

I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn in an environment that he/she can thrive educationally, emotionally, socially and mentally.  My educational philosophy centers on a learning environment that is inclusive to all students that supports their individuality, their social emotional development and fosters academic growth.  

My goal as an educator is to model compassion, resiliency and respect.  I strive to create an educational environment where students are heard and feel valued.  Through building opportunities for glows and grows, opportunities for students to problem-solve and work together while building healthy relationships.  I believe that a strong partnership with educators and families is conducive to a healthy learning environment which can promote growth and students learning at their full potential.

My educational philosophy is rooted in the belief that students thrive when they feel emotionally and socially connected to their learning environment.  Students are motivated and more confident as well when they feel connected to their learning environment.
