Regenerative agriculture (RA) restores soils and benefits local customers and communities whilst turning a healthy profit for the diligent farmer. It provides a deep look into the ecological, practical, personal and financial realms of making small farms work.
Richard Perkins, 2021
This agriculture conception is an intelligent production system, designing, installing and managing profitable small farms and productive fields to restore the dignity to rural environment and its people. It optimizes the agricultural systems taking into account of the ecological properties, and improving the relationships between plants, animals, the environment and humans and promoting social justice.
Some examples of these practices are organic farming, diversified crop rotations, biological pest control, extensive agropastoral systems, dynamic agroforestry or permaculture. Between these practices we are interested in which of these practices are being carried out in Latin America.
RA could mean to improve the quality of the resources or food, or to improve the quantity of the resources and food and of course those social and economic practices that improve people access to food and regenerate in this sense this primary sector.
